High School Never Ends

I don't know why I'm still blogging, I do't think anyone reads this once May Term is over, but I'm thinking of converting this blog into one just about my sewing endeavors (for instance, i'm going to learn to crochet this summer woo!).  Anyway, THIS post is inspired by the fact that all the jewelry has sold out, and a lot of the clothes have gone. Success!

Katie Holmes!

Katie Holmes from 6/3 Fashion Police - Best Dressed!

Katie Holmes wearing a skirt that looks very May Term by Alexis-y...
just kidding, but hey! look like Katie Holmes and buy the maxi skirt in expression !

Bye, Bye, Bye

May Term has ended...and honestly, despite how much work this project was and how much I stressed over it, I'm going to miss it.  I'm not entirely sure what else to do with myself, my entire life has revolved around this for the last four weeks. Luckily, I have some special orders to make, so it's not goodbye yet... it's more like this bizarre inbetween world. Meh.

Presentation is Everything

So you'd think I'd be kicking back and fielding the random purchase request now, right? Wrong. I have so much to do this week...

I've already gotten a special order request, so I have to jump start on that.  (success!) I need to put together a catalog/line sheet and power point presentation...I've already become very intimate friends with microsoft office this morning. It's a battle. I have to add a few more gems onto the maxi dress and reinforce the triangles on the leggings (because apparently i'm a perfectionist), plus helping out with a modelfriend's may term in the city and taking care of regular life. I swear, after this presentation on Friday I'm going home and sleeping for at least three days.

But actually, I'll probably be nonstop projecting until Graduation.

It's a good thing I'm so irrevocably in love with all of this.

More later!

Finish Line

It's done. There's a shopping site, I took the pictures. Now I just need to get my show and presentation together.

In order to make this shopping page, I had to actually...price my items.  The process seemed daunting, but as my Mentor, Allison talked me through a simple and common method.

(Cost of Materials + Cost of Labor) x 2.5

However, I didn't factor in Labor, because that's kind of the point of the project...I CHOSE to do the labor.  Also, when I thought certain things seemed a little bit unreasonable, I tweaked them a little bit.  I think it worked out well. (See for yourself and check out the "Shop May Term by Alexis" link at the top of this blog.

Now the fun part: PHOTO SHOOT.  My friends were guhreat and let me kidnap them and keep them in my house while I dressed them and dragged them all around my neighborhood to take their pictures.  They looked AMAZING and you can also check out those pictures on the Shop link.

Aren't they gorgeous?
