Burda

Wow, I got SO much done today.  Allison, my supervisor/sponsor/mentor came over, and we went over allllll of my sketches and ideas and got everything squared away.  I'm hoping to have the measurements for all of my models done by this coming Thursday (I'll squeeze them in around AP Exams or something...) and then I can start making the muslins of the five looks plus the one I'll wear. whew.

I'm just gonna list off what we decided on for you...

• The Colors for the Collection: Plumberry (a berryish plum I may or may not have invented), Forest Green, and Black.  Very jewely, very gorgeous.
• My models (well, all but two...).

• The Five Looks
• tank and appliqué leggings
• knowledge, vision, integrity t-shirt and harem pants
• gladiator maxi dress
• appliqué trapeze dress
• floral appliqué crop top and high-waisted knee skirt

It may sound questionable, but I'm really excited about all of it.  Also, Allison introduced me to the greatest publication ever: Burda Magazine.  Basically, it's a monthly periodical that shows a bunch of awesome clothes catalog style and then includes the patterns for them.  Basically, I was able to find a bunch of patterns kinda close to my designs that I can manipulate to look just how I envisioned.  Plus, they're just really fun to look at.

I'm going to go melt under Calculus Exam pressure, but then it's 100% Sewing Machine.  I got my sewing room completely ready today, I'm so in love with it.  I'll put pictures up when I get around to using my other computer...
