Muslin

So, you may ask: hey alexis, where have you been the last eternity? I know, I know! But I have good reason.  Apparently, North Jersey is the new London/Olympic Peninsula, and it's been straight up pouring rain for about five days...but if you're reading this, you live here, and you know that.  Anyway, a HUGE tree at the top of our street was uprooted by all the flooding and fell into the middle of the street, taking our major power line along with it. Guhreat.  Thus, I had to move myself and the trusty sewing machine to another location (my dad's house...)

Anyway, I've been assembling muslins and cutting fabric.  Neither of these processes are terribly interesting, so I really had very little to share here.  Maybe that's why I haven't been updating...we've hit a bit of a lag phase.

Luckily, human interaction occurs again today!  I'm fitting two of my gorgeous and perfect model-friends into muslins.  I'll be putting Adria in the maxi (although all I really needed to check the fit on is the top part, so it's more of a Xena Warrior Princess-Esque cropped yoke thing) and Jill in the Harem Pants.  The thing about these pants is that the look relies heavily on the fabric used.  When I make the final version of them, it'll be in this gorgeous midweight cotton spandex jersey thing...but right now, out of stiff, uncooperative muslin?  They're not looking all too hot.
