On a Fold

Allison came over today and we ATTACKED this project.  ALL of the fabric for EVERY single piece has been cut, and some of it has even been assembled.  We made a last minute muslin of the trapeze dress, seeing as now I'm fitting it to myself/Darlene instead of another model.  Basically, we did a ton of work to get ourselves directly on track.  With any luck, all will be complete before the end of the week, so I can have everyone over to do a final fitting and a photo shoot, and then put all the pictures up on an etsy store so people can start buying (!!!) by the end of the weekend.  That way, all I'll really need to get done the week of the presentation is put together my... presentation.  Yeah. Woot!

Cutting "On a Fold" above.  Basically, the garment is super simple and symmetrical, so the pattern is one-sided and you cut it on the fold. Love when this happens...

Cut fabric.  Basically, we just pin the pattern paper onto the fabric and follow along. Tends to give you painful pin pricks when cutting (sometimes) but makes everything super easy.

I had to refer back to this sketch about twelve billion times while I was cutting the triangular appliqués...I was so certain I was second guessing myself every time I drew a triangle!  I think they'll look amazing though...

This whiteboard haunts me in my dreams.  But LOOK how much was crossed off when I took that! It was such a relief.

More...super soon! Darlene looks fantastic right now, so I'm going to document that and post it here within twenty minutes. #nolifebeyondthisproject
